Great concept that works well, mostly
Generally offers best combination of acceptably-priced items delivered promptly, typically next day - sometimes same day - to home or work address, or many local stores or genuinely conveniently-located lockers - assuming you're near civilisation.

Can sometimes require careful attention to who is the actual seller and subsequent assessment of seller credibility.

Generally supportive of warranty servicing obligations for Amazon-sold items but on multiple occasions has required some forceful maneuvering to obtain post-warranty mandatory support as most of the chat operators seem to have missed their Consumer Rights Act training, or maybe Amazon chooses to omit CRA from the training schedule? Warranty/post-warranty servicing via marketplace sellers can be a nightmare beyond 90days from delivery, when Amazon itself will actively decline to assist.

Overall not a perfect platform, but very impressive and generally highly-performing when product/merchant chosen carefully.

So incredibly disappointed
I seriously have no words for the situation that has occurred with amazon.
We returned a microdermabrasion machine supplied by a company as it was completely useless. We paid for the return as the company refused and sent it via parceltogo/EVRI that was Hermes at the time. The company revived it two days later - I have proof of all of this and amazon declined the A-Z claim for the refund even though they told me to send it back to the company and inform them which I did.
We are talking about almost £300 that is now being kept by the company as well as the microdermabrasion.
I was firstly told by amazon to wait 14 days after I sent in the proof that the seller had received the item back. I phoned 14 days later and they said they couldn’t find any info and then said the claim had been cancelled. I then had to redo the claim and sent the information again and called for the fifth time to be denied the claim. What the heck is that? There is nothing to decline, they have the returned item and so legally owe a refund for that. Do I really need to take this to court thanks to the utter nonsense from amazon. I have never known them to behave so badly.
I still have the proof. A refund is due immediately. This has gone on since 7th June and I have never jumped through so many hoops and been out through so much crap from Amazon.

Too many 3rd party sellers.
Too many 3rd party sellers.
Just bought a phone on Amazon. When searching I was directed to "The Samsung Store". You'll have to forgive me for being old - old fashioned even. But when I am sent to a store I expect it to be what it says on the sign above the door - in this case "Samsung". Not Samsung market place - that would give me the impression that Samsung goods were being sold by 3rd party sellers. Samsung Store - items made and sold by Samsung.
It was only after buying that I realised I had paid more money for security only to find I could have bought the same at the well known auction site for less... in both cases it would have been sold by some dodgy electronics shop that also clears money for drug dealers through Western whatever or has a postal address at Yellow Storage. Forgive me Amazon, I know your tax dealings are not as clear cut as I would like, but I do feel I can complain and get something sorted... but dodgy 3rd party sellers? Leave it out. In fact, cut the fly by night ones out.
Oh, like the tax payments, it's all about the bottom line. As I said, I can take those sorts of risks on the auction site.
Finally, what's worse, when I phone up to complain to Amazon I talk to a totally disinterested operator who can barely speak English. I am not sure who is taking the Michael in all this. But one thing is clear, Amazon is losing the plot.

Late and no deliveries.
Now getting late deliveries and some not even getting delivered. Never have this problem with other online sales. Very poor.
And it's a long sometimes hard process to get a refund.

They lost a expensive pair of shoes…
They lost a expensive pair of shoes that I was not too happy about then the next I got them replaced and a few days later the first pair turned up outside my door. I contacted Amazon and the lady told me to just keep them so now I have two pairs for the price of one.

Really do not care
Let me start off by saying that I spend a lot of money with Amazon and have been with them for such a long time.
Recently there were two purchases on my account, both unknown to me. I phoned Amazon, not an easy task and they requested I change my password. They said they would look into it and get back to me within 24 hours, no contact from them. Three days later I called and they had no idea of what I was talking about.
One of the consequences of changing your password is that it signs you out of all devices, including my TV. Now I cannot back into it. Again called Amazon, they were little help.
I am seriously considering canceling my Amazon account, the sad thing is that they used to be the best at customer service.
I know I am wasting my time posting this review as I am sure Amazon will take little or no notice of it.

Always a great service
I generally buy from Amazon providing the product price is competitive (always do a quick Google check!). Next day delivery on most items, never had an issue with returns/refunds - quick and easy plus you get through to someone in customer services without the long wait time. Not sure why so many negative reviews but that certainly has not been my experience.

Horrendous customer service.
Can't get in touch with any person, the e mail selections are categories selected by Amazon, you can't write your issue, there is no phone number, the chat service is once again automated, just their own categories. I've been automatically logged out of my account that I've held for a few years, god knows how or why, not my doing. I've had to reset my password only, now I have no purchase or browsing history, I have no prime that I'm subscribed to but can't cancel because it's being taken from my debit card, and I have a dispute with a seller that I can no longer contact. These B******S have to be the worst company to exist ever. There is no customer service!

When a company the size of Amazon steals for someone, why do they prevent you from speaking to the correct department, so the matter can get resolved!!
They find abusing and belittling a disabled person far better sport, I don’t !!!

Treat products/sellers & what Amazon says on their site with caution.
Links on amazon website to report wrongful activity / sellers do not work, Repeated customer reports on sellers profile show customers being potentially defrauded but sellers are still on there eg Dream-Shoes-Store in israel, who now seem to be using new name of Merrell Store. (This seller often sends wrong items or none at all & try to avoid refunds. When you order an item from them you only find out after ordering on amazon that it could take 2 months to arrive, & often delayed still further. I tried to do a seller review but does not appear on site! Amazon advertises free postage on lots of items but then defaults to costly special delivery option automatically on checkout so make sure to check. A number of items say free postage by amazon but no free standard delivery option comes up on checkout- you have to go on chat or request a call to try to get it sorted out & not easy. All these issues have been going on for ages. Am unsure how they can get away with this. Products reviewed repeatedly by customers as faulty continue to be sold by sellers using Amazon. Seems no quality control of sellers or products sold on their site, nor any interest in making customer service & queries more accessible.

Item not arrived but marked as 'delivered'
I am a prime customer from Amazon. I ordered an item from amazon prime. The item never arrived by marked a delivered. It causes a lot of confusion and delay until their customer service told me the item is lost in transit! I even checked my ring doorbell to make sure no one was at my door at the time it was marked as 'delivered'. This is totally unacceptable for such a big tech giant.
